Your privacy matters. This policy explains what Glowth does — and does not — do with your information.
Glowth has no sign-up and no email or password. Your goals, progress, profile and preferences are stored only on your device. The only data that reaches a server is described under “Friends & challenges” below, and it never includes your habits, progress history, Apple Health data or Health Connect data.
Goal and progress data is saved in local storage on your phone. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly share or back it up yourself.
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Glowth reads your steps, water, exercise minutes and workouts, mindful minutes and sleep so that matching goals fill themselves in. When you log progress by hand on one of those goals, Glowth also writes that entry to Apple Health, and it only ever removes entries it added itself.
Health data stays on your device: the numbers Glowth reads are kept only in the app’s local storage, and they are never uploaded to our servers, iCloud or anyone else, never used for advertising or marketing, and never sold. You decide which data types Glowth may read or write, and you can change or revoke this at any time in the Health app (your profile → Apps → Glowth) or turn the connection off in Glowth’s settings.
On Android, if you choose to connect Health Connect, Glowth asks for permission to read and write these data types: steps, hydration (water), exercise sessions, mindfulness sessions and sleep. Glowth reads them so that matching goals fill themselves in, and when you log progress by hand on one of those goals it writes that entry to Health Connect as a manual entry. Glowth only ever deletes records it wrote itself and never changes data from other apps.
Health Connect data stays on your device: Glowth keeps the values it reads only in the app’s local storage and never uploads them to our servers or any third party, never uses them for advertising, marketing or profiling, and never sells them. Glowth’s use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You choose which permissions to grant and can revoke them at any time in Health Connect (App permissions → Glowth) or turn the connection off in Glowth’s settings.
To make friend invites and challenge counts work, the app signs in anonymously to Google Firebase (no name, email or phone number is required). If you use Friends, your friends can see the display name and avatar you choose, whether you checked in today and your current streak — only that day’s status is kept, not a history. Joining or finishing a challenge adds one to an anonymous counter for that challenge. Invite links record anonymous events (such as an invite being opened) so we can tell whether invites work.
Reminders are scheduled as local notifications on your device. We do not use remote push servers and cannot see when or whether they fire.
Optional Glowth Pro purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) and managed by RevenueCat. We never see your payment details.
The app does not include third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and it does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
